Full Version: need drivers for external USB HDD
I urgently need drivers for a Toshiba USB external HDD. After reading a guide here, I deleted the c:\windows\inf folder. Windows recognises the USB device as 'USB to IDE', so I need drivers for it. Shouldn't the HDD be recognised as 'External Mass Storage Device' or something?
It should be plug and play. If you need drivers, pop in your Windows CD and let Windows search it for drivers.

tried it... even my one-day old Sandisk Cruzer Mini doesn't work 
It cannot find the drivers on the Windows Install CD. It just says "Found New Hardware - Sandisk Cruzer Mini" and then fires up the Found New Hardware wizard.
How can I restore my C:\Windows\Inf folder? Is a reinstall in order?
