Full Version: how to get rid of all the >'s in a forwarded email

This might be common knowledge for some but for people that don't know about it, it can save them 10 minutes of work

Say for instance you have an email that looks like this

You then want to take out all the > before you send it on. Now a lot of people tend to go line by line and click delete. But there is an easier way.

Copy the entire email into a word processing program like word and or word perfect. Then do a find replace.

Find >

Replace with nothing

Presto! The email is now all fixed with just a few clicks of the mouse button

that was incredibly useful! not for me much but my friend gets at least ten forwards a day and to the dread of her address book pals forwards them on lol im gonna have to tell her about this but even i do the whole deleting thing line by line

Simple, but very handy! I delete all forwards anyway, but, if I ever do decide to pass one on, I'll be running for Word

Gmail hides those automatically so no use for me... but I'll tell my dad, he removes those manually in his office... so this'll save him some time (i kind of new this already tho, you just reminded me again how great "replace" actually is

)

if you are using Outlook 2003. you can remove them by going into

Tools / Options / Preferences (tab) / Email Options
[attachmentid=107406]
if you are using Hotmail:
Open your inbox / Options / Mail / Message Replies
[attachmentid=107407]

Also the initial post was also good as it can save some time with people who didnt know this !! For me...........I always did this after I figured it myself a few days back !!
