So Saturday, January 22, 2005, I went to the Apple store early (found out it was going to open at 8:30 am). Got there alittle after 8:00 am to find a line of about 30 to 50 people.

Stood in line for the next 30 minutes, eavesdrop on several people who were on vacation who needed to buy one today or wanted to get the Ipod shuffle.

Doors open the Apple sales people greeted us by clapping. People scattered to view products, some people scatterred to view the Mac mini. Still was at least 20 people stood in line to talk to the cashier.

While waiting in line found out that all Ipod shuffles were sold out prior to today (a 3 to 4 week wait).

The person in front of me wanted a 1.2 Mac mini sold out! I wanted a 1.4 Mac mini....sold out!

Left disappointed, Im not even sure if they even had any in stock. The Apple guys could have at least put a sign up saying all Mac minis are sold out, preorder only.

So I went to CompUSA, they had one 1.2 Mac mini and all 1.4 Mac minis were sold out. sad.gif

So who got one on Saturday?

I knew I would get some jerk leading me to the Apple website. Since Im new to the Apple world I wanted to test one first before I "waste" my money on a Apple product.

Of course some people might like to buy a computer without trying it out but I guess they do that for cars and any other electronic devices.

Now lets get back to my question.

Elliott
Did you bother to test the model on display at the Apple store? You can do that first and then decide whether you want to order from the online Apple Store or not.

Got mine from here: Mini Mac 1.42GHz

Hopefully got shipped out today but havent heard from the seller, since the congratulations on winning the auction and cost of postage to the UK. So hopefully will hear something tonight (i forget about the time difference).

Ordered my keyboard and mouse from the Apple Store and they got dispatched today smile.gif

Pretty much my thought. I've spent hours at the Store using the iMac G5 and PowerBooks. It's really helped me decide to get a Mac.

You buy Macs at a drugstore in Canada? Bizarre.

Im in no rush to get one, haven't bought an Apple before, I can wait till it comes back in stock.

I was just curious if all Apple stores were sold out or not.

Apple is most likely filling the orders of stock machines first, then customized ones (like yours).
