Hi, all i looking for a usd capture device for my pookbook so i can use imovie so i can transfer old VHS video to dvds so anyone know where i can find one for around $50 to $100

pinnacle makes good capture devices. easy to use.

Check out NewEgg.com. I wouldn't go with usb, because it uses up cpu while firewire doesn't. wink.gif

IMO their software is crap.

A converter box is more expensive but it does a great job and can be used always in the future for anything else.

Make sure you use Firewire. Pinnacle sells some that actually work with iMovie, no need to use their software.

You will only get DV quality if you use a firewire device, the bandwidth offered by USB isn't high enough. Canopus make some really nice ones, but expect to pay about £200 (So prob about $200!!).
