If your graphics or RAM is crap you'll obviously have problems running games. Games are not just CPU dependent. wink.gif

You can run Windows on a 1.84 mhz processor? Wow!

Just kidding.. Your system should run CS fine, but you're probably cutting it really close with your RAM. If you have to run Steam you'll probably run out.

I think your computer is an IBM compatible, actually.

I'm using a 2.66 Intel 4 w/ 1gig of RAM and an nVidia GoFX 5200 (32mb) - it's a laptop, and I play CS:S quite a bit. It runs just fine - the FPS isn't bad, but the overall image quality could be better (my default video settings are set at medium for nearly all available options, and I tend to leave them there).

That comp has no chance of running cs unless it gets a whole new rebuild.... for starters you need a 128 mb card to play cs

Not really...you can run it with less...and to be technical..cs (as in old style cs) required practically nothing to run.

That comp still has a chance of running..this may sound condescending..but do you know what you're talking about?

He's talking about Counter-Strike, not Counter-Strike: Source.

Obviously your computer is a peice of trash then. My computer runs it fine at 1024x768 w/ some settings turned up.
P4 2.4GHz, 512MB Ram, Radeon 9700 TX

You're gonna need some more ram, definitely.

EDIT - Now that I see it's only CS, your specs are fine but you will want more ram. Probably a better video card too but I don't think it's necessary.
Astral
Firstly, the 128 mb of RAM is hardly even capable of running XP, let alone CS:Source. You'll need at least 512 mb RAM to be able to have an enjoyable experience and a stable platform. You're video card needs an update; recent mid-line cards will do, though bear in mind it won't be as pretty (lower screen resolution, less detail, etc) if you went with something on the higher end.

I have a 64 MB card and it runs fine, a little slowdown in smoke, but not too much.

CS:Source, on the other hand, is a different story =P

40 FPS on dx7, woot.
