I bought a tune from Buy.com it came as WMA file.

My car stereo plays MP3, but has no idea what to do with the WMA.

I realize that WMA is copy protected, but it is within the liscence of the download to make upto 5 copies for personal use. And i just want my MP3 player in my car to play it.

Any ideas?

i dont know if it'll work with the copy protected files and it is quite a long proces to have to go through but...

burn to cd with nero (or whatever) and burn it as a music cd
then rip it with wmp10 and rip to mp3

hmm... just thinking about it now you could maybe "burn" an image instead of an actual disk

what a pain in my ass.. cost me a blank CD also. This is the last time i download anything in DRM format.

I used media player and a Nero plugin to burn the file to an audio CD, then convert back to MP3. I may have been able to spare the CD by trying to ISO it then ripping it from daemon tools, but i already have wasted to much time on one freaking song..

WMA/DRM sucks even for legitmate users. Hopefully some new technology will come out that can protect copyrights and allow buyers "some" flexibility...

/soapbox off... (sorry bout that biggrin.gif )

btw, the song was "Stockholm Syndrome" by Muse.

in case anyone was wondering.. heard it on XM and could'nt get it out of my head =)
