How abouts can I go to convert a .wmv file to a .mpg or something quicktime can read, on a mac? No PC programs. This is so I can use the final file in iDVD.

Thanks,

If you can play the .wmv in VideoLAN Client, you should be able to convert it to a .mpg in there as well. smile.gif

Since you dont say otherwise I recon you can play it in VideoLAN Client (VLC).

So here are the steps to convert it:
1. Start VLC
2. Click "File > Open File..."
3. Browse and select the .wmv file
4. Check "Advanced output:" and click "Settings"
5. Select the output file and specify the Transcode options (codec, bitrate and audio channels)
6. Click OK twice and Wait... smile.gif

VLC won't play Windows Media 9 files, only earlier ones (maybe not even WM8, I'm not quite sure). Other than that, nice tip about the transcoding options in VLC, I never noticed them before (and I use VLC every day)!
