Anyone know how to accomplish it? I didn't see any options in quicktime hmm.gif I'm trying to edit a ringtone from my t616...

Use the export function. But you'll need QuickTime Pro to be able to use it.

I don't see midi as one of the options in export....

You won't be able to export an MP3 or AIFF file into MIDI. But QuickTime does support basic editing of an existing MIDI file (cut, copy, paste, trim) and exporting the modified version into a new MIDI file.

a midi file contains no actual sound data, it's simply a string of notes and instrument information that tells your sound card what to play... kind of like a roll from a player piano

hence you can't turn an mp3 or wav in to a midi, it'd be like trying to play a CD in a player piano
