I've got a duron 750mhz with 256mb ram and 200gig hdd running fedora 3 with apache webserv that doesnt see much traffic. I was wondering if the system could run a counterstrike source server too. it's got enough bandwidth (10mb u/d) was wondering if the hardware was up to it. now I know that the companies that run these servers use dual cpu etc etc but they run several servs a box and I only want one on this one. thanks in advance!

Your RAM is the only thing that is limiting for a CS:S server. But you should be able to run at least a 8 client, maybe a 16 client server, it also depends on how everything is configured. For instance if you are running X Windows with a desktop enviroment, then I'd probably say an 8 client server max. But there isn't anything stopping you from trying.

I'm able to get away with a 18 perosn on a P3 866mhz w/ 512mb of ram as long as WinServ 2k3 is running on BARE minimums! (except IIS6 /w php and MySql)
