Well...Mac has the built-in DiskImage but what you're probably looking for is CarbonCopy Cloner.
For our PC labs at the University, we use Symantec Ghost Corporate to remotely clone our workstations and perform updates. For our one MAC lab, CC was the closed app I could find to Ghost. Couple of things to keep in mind...
-If you want to remotely clone the workstations, you need to have an OS X server running which can dish out DHCP. Otherwise, you'll need an external firewire drive that you can boot to. Yes, you'll have to physically touch every Mac.
-You use CC to create the image and NetRestore to clone the drives. Whereas Ghost has one interface to do it all for you.
-Make sure to select the mountable image option inside CC. This will provide you with the single file containing the image, just like Ghosts .gho files. Otherwise, you get a duplicate hard drive copy w/out a single image.
