Hey,

I currently have one of Dell's 1703FP's and am looking to dual it up in the next little while. the 1704FP has improved specs... but is it obviously different from its predicessor?

as I dont want monitor's that look different, but I think I would appreciate the better response time. 1703FP's are still available (eBay) and cost marginally less, but price really isn't the issue. So if anyone knows, t'would be helpful.

In short, is the only difference the lcd panel?

Yes the panel.

The buttons are different

The positioning of the USB ports on the side is different

The entire stand is different.

They are similar looking, but if they were side to side, you can tell the difference without looking too much.

I have the 1704FPT and its great, I have a few issues but its probably something that can easily be fixed. One is just a design flaw (tilt is off center by a few MM)
