Hello,
Hope someone can help. I have a Win 2k box, thats a member server, that all of a sudden drops it shares from the network. Its been happening for a while. The box is all up to date with patches and all that. I had even replaced the nic card on the server, but the shares keep on disappering. The server is otherwise up, its pingable and its listed in the Network Browser. I can even Remote Desktop into it without a problem. The only way to bring these shares back is to reboot the server.
Also what makes this even more weird is the fact that the event log shows no errors!! What the?!?!? So if anyone can help please reply! MANY MANY THANKS!!

Someone hacks your system.
Check virus, spyware, and others.

Nope.. clean of all that.. Have latest NAV Corp running along with a Cisco PIX firewall and IDS system. So nothing gets in without something going off.
How do you know it dropped the shares? More explanation, please.

hey check ur event logs the 'server' service may be freezing up or something might just be playing up with 'server' process
Are you sure you are conencted to the shares?
I was under the impression that you had to enable 'always connecting to a share at logon' or whatever its called.
