Schmoove
For your information. I just started porting this gem:

Looks nice so far, the window box reminds me of gaim im box. (especially the tab)
Vector
Anybody know what font is used in that?
vertigosity
Sweet. This theme is really awesome... and I pretty much ought to just throw myself at Schmoove's knees and beg for awesomeness.

I'm betting it's Bitstream Vera Sans, but don't quote me on it.

Looks good

Nice Schmoove, i always liked your style. I tried to port this myself, but the fact that some windows will use the toolbarbackground and other will just draw the menu using the menu color irritates me (one of the coolest efects of this theme was the slightly darker menubar) and i dont like some of the glyphs of the theme (checkboxes & radiobuttons for example). btw, the new .5 version is not half as nice as the older version you show in your screenshot.

Looking forward to see your version.
Zip
looks like it could be a good port. if i were you i'd make the min/max/close buttons more rounded like mymaster did, it suits the theme better than the round ones wink.gif

looking forward to it, your ports are always excellent schmoove.

Looks nice. I'll keep checking for updates smile.gif

please PM me if you'd like a beta tester yes.gif wink.gif

You think you could include a redhat start button? Just for kicks? biggrin.gif

Very nice looking.

Schmoove, you are my hero!

I love the look of this theme, but never could get it to work on Fedora....at least I can use it on Windows when this one comes out. Thanks Schmoove!
toadeater
Oh another great Schmoove Linux port. What would we all do without you? biggrin.gif

I'd prefer slightly rounded min/max buttons and something besides a Gnome startbutton too.

Waiting patiently for release...

Lookin' Good.

Hurry up! smile.gif

Great stuff Schmoove!

Great port!
Smitjel
Oh my damn! This is the ONLY gtk theme/metacity I use on my linux partition.

You'd be a freakin god if you ported this! punk.gif

I see in your screenshot you're using the square buttons. I think the more rounded look looks better...jmho. thumbs_up.gif

Ha! That's why I uploaded the older version because I really don't like where dude is taking the theme (the metacity theme, anyway). biggrin.gif

Stylez Ray.
wow, the rounded buttons version looks great, I hope you will port this too.
I'm pretty sure this VS will end my Mac phase, I'm so tired of all the same looking Mac VS, Clearlooks looks so much more professional and is easy on the eyes. I will def. use it!!
daydream nation
My favourite design is what Schmoove showed in the first post... especially the Deep Sky variation. I hope the VS will become reality... happy.gif
shen
if a matching winamp and trillian3 skin are released with this, i will use it... FOREVAHHHHH

I can't wait to try it out. biggrin.gif

The screenshot in the first post is what i am porting. This is not a screenshots of the port but a screenshot of the real theme on Linux.
The Windows port will be like that (or as close as possible).

Asking for the rounded buttons is not overdoing it. There are at least two "official" versions of this theme, some of us liked the rounded button version.

Whichever one you decide on Schmoove, it'll look killer I'm sure. smile.gif How's this coming by the way?
Smitjel
Yeah, whichever version you choose, I know I'd use it.

I'd like to know what you had in mind for the start button and start menu.

Pretty similar as I did in SmoothGnome, at least the taskbar and startbutton.
I don't know what I am gonna do with the startmenu yet. It's always the last thing I make.
The shellstyle will be exactly the same as it was in SmoothGnome. This is why I made a universal shellstyle last time. I hate to make those and now I have one that fits in about any theme so I will re-use that.

The captionbar is another story. I'm not too fond of either official designs so I don't know which I'm gonna pick yet. I am experimenting with a cross-breed of the original caption and the Ximian Industrial caption (the one with the stripes)..... we'll see what is going to be the result of that.
I'm not done with it yet.

Anyways I only work on it when I feel like it. So it may take a while before I finish it. This has always been the best method for me.... I take my time.
When I am gonna rush things I don't think the result will be good.

Sweet, I'm already using ClearLooks on my notebook running Gnome biggrin.gif
pvt_tintin
I've used a VS that's another Linux port but I forgot the name ( Gorilla or something I think ). It has ROUNDED lower windows corners. Pity I forgot the backup the VSs before my last format of the HDD...........

I just wanna point out that if the VS has squared lower windows corners, it just look like "Windows".

So besides smooth caption buttons, don't forget smooth windows corners! tongue.gif

If I've got the correct screenshot that's supposed to be similar, could I make the suggestion to ditch all gnome references (icons, wording, etc)? Sure, this is a port of a gtk theme but you're using it on Windows...kinda silly in my opinion to have gnome stuff everywhere. Afterall, that's why I have Linux on another partition. Keep it simple, just without gnome stuff. smile.gif

You can suggest that, but it is not gonna make a difference.
The gnome stuff will be in the theme. I see no reason to replace the gnome foot with a windows flag.
tbudke
CANNOT WAIT FOR THE RELEASE OF THISE!!! +FAV maybe an alternative start button like the ubuntu one or something

But you do see a reason to put a gnome foot on a windows visual style? That'd be a blasphemy to gnome developers. tongue.gif

It's cool dude...make it how you want. thumbs_up.gif

Nice shmoove
But smitjel, "But you do see a reason to put a gnome foot on a windows visual style? That'd be a blasphemy to gnome developers. tongue.gif", isn't it blasphemy to put the Apple logo all over XP, thats something that I see sooooo much.
moglenstar
this will be great when its released biggrin.gif

which tabs will you be using?

http://clearlooks.sourceforge.net/screenshots/

the ones in 0.3 or the better looking ones of 0.4?

Completely agree...it's no wonder "apple" people laugh at "windoze" people. How stupid does that look with apple logos all over your windows visual style? Get a Mac you posers! tongue.gif

I'm just saying this is supposed to be a port of a gtk theme...what's the gnome icons have to do with it? It's a windows visual style, not a tribute to gnome...JMHO smile.gif

Looks very promising, Waiting for further dev. on this port smile.gif

Things id love to see but prolly will have to mod myself for personal use: Alt. Start button mod and maybe a dark recolor (black, deep red ?)

I agree Schmoove. For some things I use Windows, for most things I use Gnome. Why not have my Windows environment as close to a real operating system as possible wink.gif Nicely done, and I cannot wait for the release!

i like it except for the foot as the start

this looks great, looking forward to trying it smile.gif

All good come to those who wait (or something like that....)

I'm progressing, still got a lot to do, but it is starting to shape up.
I won't post screenshots, since that would spoil the fun. You will see when I release it.

Looks nice and clean, I like that deep sky especially smile.gif
