I have a friend who wanted to register her AppleCare for her PowerBook, but couldn't do so using Safari or Firefox (no sign in button, it seemed). So I decided to check my own AppleCare status and product registrations, at Apple.

I don't know what happened, but after using my OWN appleID and password, I logged in and was somehow presented with somebody else's information/contact details?

I went to:
http://www.asia.apple.com/support/registration/
Then,
http://serial.apple.com.au/app

Where I signed in using my own appleID. After signing in, it said:

"Hello, Colin Lam | help | logout"
(I am not Colin Lam, whoever he is).

I can see his personal info (address, etc) as well as:

I myself own an iPod, but I REALLY don't think I paid for all of those 90 day telephone support AppleCare protections... (because I am not seeing my OWN information, but some other guys?).

What's going on? Database mix-up? I want my OWN information! See the attachment. whistle.gif

Update
Apparently, those 90 day phone supports are actually for me! I have purchased a couple of iPod shuffles this year (maybe not 5) but I do own my own iPod with AppleCare and have purchased a few more this year - although I did NOT register any of them under my own AppleID, they were purchased for friends/family.

I used Internet Explorer and the problem seemed to have disappeared, with my name instead of Colins. Strange... laugh.gif

Erhm..anyone been using you're computer lately and perhaps save their password? logout and login as yourself?

If you ordered from the Apple Website using your Apple ID, it automatically enrolls the 90 day support, it did that when I ordered my PowerBook, it was already there the initial warrenty.

Nobody uses my computer but me. Saved passwords is not on. I've logged in and out as myself but on Firefox, it shows up as a different name (I don't know that guy) but when I use Internet Explorer, it works fine. w00t.gif

Martog, thanks! I realised that it was my previous 2x iPods and 3x iPod Shuffles that I had ordered for friends and family, so that makes sense.
