My question is: How can I let WMP (Windows Media Player) play all the audio / vedio files when using Firefox (I've got K-Lite Codec Pack)?

Okay, I've searched the forum and I did find the question I'm asking, but I still need a bit of help. (Why didn't I post it in the same thread? -The thread was closed)

The final answer to that thread was to install Quicktime, but that's not really what I want to do. I want to let WMP play all the stuff, and that's why I installed K-Lite Codec Pack.

Can I make WMP play the stuff without installing QuickTime?

P. S. I'm not trying to let Firefox play .mov files, all I'm asking is to let it play MIDI, MP3, etc.

Thanks a lot!

I don't think so. WMP is hard-coded to play only .wav, .wmv, and some others, not .mp3, or .midi.

Doesn't K-Lite Codec Pack help somehow?

Where did you hear this!? Go to Tools>Options>Filetypes, MP3 is there.

Maybe what you need to do is unassociate MP3s with whatever you were playing them with up to this point first.

What I mean is the WMP plugin cannot play .mp3 or .midi files. The player can play of course, but the plugin can't.
