i bought my emac about a year ago, and i didn't choose to install the bluetooth module, but my question is, can i install it now ? or is it something that has to be done before they assemble it ?

thanks for any help provided.

You would have to try and get the part from Apple or an Apple retailer, and I don't know how hard they are to install into an eMac, and the store may or may not sell you one.

I think it would be quite difficult. Try to find an Apple Service manuel that Apple Techies use for repairs and upgrades for the eMac and see if you can get any info on installing a bluetooth module yourself. I recall someone recently just bought a BT dongle and connected it tup in the insides of the iBook. The eMac I would guess would be a different story.

hmmm well all i want bluetooth for is to connect my phone to my mac (for backup etc) if i bought an external usb bluetooth module like the d-link on the apple store, will that be sufficient enough for me ?
Martog
The D-Link one from the apple store is the only Apple supported 3rd party BT dongle, so that's what you want. The only other BT that Apple supports is the internal module.
