Ok, Well i got my Power Mac Dual Processor 867 MHz 768 Ram ect... Still looks like its out of the box and runs like its out of the box . Have had it for 2 years now happy mac user. I notice after leaving my mac running for even a day just sitting there the avalible RAM goes down to Sometimes 8 MB. Right now after just sitting here for a day with iChat and safari its down to 282.2 MB and it doesnt go up it just keeps going down. Is there a way to reclaim my ram to get rid of un used ram. Mac OS X 10.3.9

As a short answer, No..

You have to understand the way OS X works is, the more memory used (prefetched) = better. OS X will always try to use as much RAM available, and when more is needed, it frees up. Ergo monitoring system preformance on "memory available" is not viable.

so thats why i have almost no memory free all the time. i thought it was like windows (more free memory = better)

Well, not only what Nick said, but Safari on 10.3 also seems to have a memory leak. From what I can tell, it's fixed in 2.0 (in Tiger).
