My iPod earbuds are broken after i accidentally sat on them. tongue.gif I tried glueing it back but now there is no quality (bass, treble, bad mid) in the left earbud. They are out of warranty so i can't take them back.

I saw they were selling the Apple earbuds for $20 at my local mac dealer, so i was thinking i could get another set of them, but i was interested in an alternative, preferably under the $20 AUD range, and as good if not better quality than the iPod supplied earbuds. Any help?

IMHO iPod Bundled earbuds are among the worst earbuds in the world.
I wouldn't bother buying if it were $5. (Maybe I would...but you see the point)
For $20 AUD, I think you MAY be able to get a pair of Koss KSC-75.
If not, then, get either Koss The Plug (The new one), or Sennheiser MX XX0 series.

I agree. They are truly great. Don't waste anymore money on cheap-ass earphones, just go for Shure E3C. Use eBay or newegg.com to get them cheaper.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Whatever you do don't get the Sony MDR-81's, just see what this guy has to say http://www.wyattsays.com/ about them. yes.gif

yeh i dont really want in-ear buds. The Shure E3c are $179, and i assume thats USD, which is $230 AUD, not including shipping or GST. Even that before-tax figure is out of my range.

I think the iPod earbuds arent as bad as people make them out to be. i think i might just go for them. I gotta wait for next pay which is a week away so if anyone comes up with any exceedingly good earbuds please post or pm me.

Get the Sony ex51 / ex71 in-ear for ~$50. They're very good for this price.
