For all that don't know yet, theres a new firmware update for all the x50s. It seems to be a huge improvement, but I have not tried it yet. Soon though.

A03 for x50 low/mid

ok then, i'll start off.... i backed up my contents to my computer and installed the new firmware... flawless. then i also managed to restore my backup... so i didnt have to sit there reinstalling all my programs and reapplying my settings.

Apparently restored backups might not be 100% reliable so a reinstall is advised, but I don't know of anyone who's actually had a problem. I was considering doing a complete reinstall anyway so I just went ahead with that. I find battery life is improved and I think Wifi is more reliable. I didn't notice if memory improved except that they removed the duplicate Odyssesy client in Program Files that was wasting 2MB (you could delete it by hand with A02 and earlier anyway).

yeah Dell advises that you dont restore backups, but ive had no problems in doing so. im glad i didnt have to reinstall everything.

I havent had the chance to work w/ wifi yet so i dont know if it's better. I'm not sure if battery life is better yet but that would be sweet

i agree with you, i didnt notice the memory thing either.
