I was just wondering before I buy a Zen Micro, when you transfer songs on it, can you put them in folders? Say, a certain genre or artist and when you want to play a song, you have to go to a folder, say Rap, then you can choose which to play in that folder. Kind of like a iPod mini. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can seperate different music into different Playlists.

Also, another question. Will I be able to make it play in the order I want, or will it automatically play in alphabetical order or something like that?

I bought a black 5gb Zen Micro and it should get here on Wednesday, can't wait! biggrin.gif

Ok. Another question, sorry! But I am confused about the two firmwares. I haven't gotten my Zen Micro yet, but I'd like to know which firmware to get when I do get it. Also, what can I use to put songs on it. I'd like to know which program will let put me put them in folders, playlists, etc..

Thanks again!

There are currently three firmware’s available: 1.02.05, 2.00.12, and 2.11.02 Beta

Basically, the v2 firmware will add better support for WMP10 and MTP/PlayForSure functionality. I think the v2 beta adds more support for DRM files...but is basically the same as the non-beta version. The v1 is the "standard" firmware, which has better support for ZenMicroMediaExplorer and is non-MTP/PlayForSure compliant.

So to answer your last question: Use v1 if you want to use ZenMicroMediaExplorer to transfer files, make playlists, etc or use the v2 firmware if you feel you're going to use WMP10 to do these same operations.

I can somewhat back this up, however I am using the firmware (v1 I am assuming) that comes on the player, and I use Windows Media Player 10 to sync with it fine, no issues here at all smile.gif

No, there are no folders for the Micro. Everything is sorted by ID3 tags.
