hi folks,...

i have some sort of decent problem here with my graphic drivers...

i have a 2 monitor/2 graphic card system (xp)

and postet this message in a board...

hi folks, ...

i boot with my secondary card ( i changed it in bios) till i come into windows.

then i wanted to swich the settings ( that my pci card runs as secondary) but when i go to the graphic control panel ( where the 2 devices plus monitor should appear ) windows xp tells me that the graphic drivers aren t the correct ones and that they are older than windows needs it and that i should go and update my graphic drivers.

but the problem is that my drivers are the most recent ones... and the usually work.

e.g.

i uninstalled the secondary device and suddenly when i reinstalled it it worked. but just till that moment when i rebooted windowsxp, then i had the same difficulties...

maybe anyone knows how to help....

thank you

the answer was:

might be you should deinstall all drivers, so, including AGP ones?

Also, try to find a way to disable auto-recovery of your VGA drivers. They reside in some folder in your WINNT folder.

Since I went beck to W2K, I can't find out where, but they are extracted in a backup-folder. If you delete those, WXP can't put them back anymore.

but i cannot manage to find out where these drivers are located......

and the guy who posted the answer doesn´t know either....

maybe one of you guys has some tipps for me....

big, big tnx
.....
i think you have to remove the cards from the device manager before you try to switch which is the primary card, otherwide windows just gets "confused"
