can i store non audio related files like doc,zip and exes files on my ipod mini 4gb.
i am asking this coz whenver i plug this into my pc, it opens a window whihc lists directories like contacts. very much similar to my 512mb flash drive?

Yeah you can store whatever you want on it. It acts as a removable hdd when in disk mode.

Edit > Preferences > iPod > (2nd tab) > Enable Disk Use.

OR....

Menu + Select (wait for apple logo), Play + Select (Till unit says disk mode)

my friend also tried the same thing but it did not happen for hime. does this only mode function only on mac or on pc as weel.
anyways ghow to turn the disc mode off?

disk mode works for both mac and windows formatted iPods.... and to get out of "forced disk mode" all you must do is hit "Menu + Select again to reset..
