Hi deadzombie. Here is an extract from the readme file:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
** Credits
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This dock was developed usin as base and inspiration the
excelent aqua dock from deadzombie. I want to thank to deadzombie
because their excellents jobs are always an inspiration for me.
If you deadzombie read this, listen me, your'e my master!
All the icons/zoomers was rebuilded using the original icons from
Apple, and the dock bar was made from screen shots so it's very
closer to the real thing.
Your'e the man!
Hey Amilcar! thats GREAT! ... the email Notify Works Good Too! ... My Only Comment, is the iTunes Part! ... can u Chaneg the icon, to the new iTunes icon, rather than the Old Skool one?! ... Besides that, its GREAT!

Of course NeYo, i can do that, the only problem is that i don't know how it is (I don't have OS X), so maybe you could post a pic or something...
Thanks to all for your comments, I spend several days with pain in the ass building this fu***ng dock and your words are music for my ears.
Great Buddy! ... Here...
... i was gonna say something, but i forgot! lol!
...oh! ... a Side Dock Would be Cool ... the right Side, But that'd mean u'd need 2 Adjust the MOuse Over Arrow effects and Stuff, i guess one Step @ a time, but thats' what i'd like 2 see!

Your'e right Kiron, but these files was the preview release, I send it to duckie for test purposes.
In the new msgina is finally resolved the buttons issue (now all of them are "real" buttons), and have all the icons/text dialogs replaced.
In teh new shell32, you'll see the new osx explorer bar and an all new set of icons, even some ones made for me using the Apple's GUI guidelines.
Thanks for you interest!

damn. nice desktop.
put windowfx2 on there and i'd have a hard time telling the difference...
I'm seriously thinking about making my own dock program soon. I've got to pick up some books on directx, but i think i can do it (i've had some experience with the dock animation routines through that flash animation one that was out a while ago).
I'll let you all know if I even get started....

Hey man, great theme! Only one question.... Think you could make it for other resolutions also? I only have a 19 inch monitor which runs only runs at 60 hertz in 1280x1024 and hurts my eyes like crazy. Look great otherwise though, keep up the good work!

My finished smilie faces are really reserved for people I know well. It's something I do when I'm toying with a new project in my head. That's why you only see a few around and they show up randomly. Sorry...I keep them to myself. But feel free to make your own. They're pretty easy to make and great practice with the freeform pen tool. Learn the might of the anchor point!
Amilcar:I wasn't giving you a hard time! I promise! I'm using your VERY much improved pop-up objects instead of my ghetto ones; you nailed them perfectly!
And guys...Amilcar gets mega props for a very nice, very complete readme file. I guarantee that if he needs any help with these objects, images or anything I'll go out of my way for him because he gave credit where credit is due! (although he seems to be doing awesome on his own!)

deadzombie I think it's about time that you tell everyone that you stole my dockbar that I made about 2 years ago when you hacked into my computer then threatened to firebomb my house if I told anyone

My good friend, you did an excellent job. Now I guess i can trash my copies i was making and use yours. If i get a chance, these WILL go on the site.
Thanks and keep up the great work.
deadzombie, i understand, dude. ya can't blame me for asking, tho.

i'm an old man. when u say something about a freeform pen tool and anchor point, to me, that means a sharpie with a piece of string tied to it and anchored with a thumbtack. u youngsters are the graphic experts. lol

Good Lord man, how old do you think I am? I was tromping semi naked models around in paint before most of these guys were chewing on crayons.
Come to think about it, who here has programmed there own art in basic or pascal on a TRS-80 or Atari 400?

Right Here! TRS-80 COCO I used to do a lot of that ****.. lines and lines of code.. the toughest I ever did was an oriental Dragon.. I had several sheets of graph paper taped together which I then drew the dragon on.. from that point I filled in the squares on the graph paper, numbered arcoss the top and side so I knew where each point was then went to town coding.. took me forever, but damn it looked good when done. :-)
I just tried out the dock, and I must say it is very well made. Great work......but I prefer using my own dock.

:lick:
Iceman, how do you add shortcuts to your dock? Plz help. no one has yet to explain to me how.

Hi guys! Your'e being very nice with all these pretty words. Thanks a lot for you feedback.
Some explanations:
Duckie: My partner, if I don't ask for put the file in your site, is because i read your last notice (btw, that's very sad), and i don't know if your'e online at this moment. Of course that will be a honour be hosted by you.
Cjohn: Do you mean the link shortcuts on the existing images, or an all new zoomer with your own icon and link? If the answer is the first one, you can do it clicking right over an image and selecting "Set Target". If is the second one, then you'll need build a new zoomer using a icon of your choice, wich isn't very hard but is very extensive for explain. Some guy here put a link to an tutorial, maybe he could post it again, or you could dive in the past threads.
About a Dock for different resolution: That's very possible and, in fact, very easy to do. Wich resolution dou you prefer, 1024x768?

I'm trying to decide wich icons must be deleted from the dock in order to make it shorter (for the 1024x768 resolution).
The simplest decision is to throw away the Documents folder and the Pictures folder, because both of them are representated in the Home PopUp, but, what happens if you don't like to use the pop up?
Please help me to decide on.

besiboyz... did you rip your avatar from jsutton's icon?
I copied your avatar and flipped it horizontally... looks EXACTLY like jsutton's icon. Did u get permission or talk to him? I honestly couldn't care less, I'm just worried that jsutton might be offended if you ripped his icon and flipped it and used it as ur avatar... dunno.

I bet you could get rid of the Getright and Pictures icons since the My Pictures folder is just an extra click through the Documents link.

question about your osx dock ice-man. it's one of the best i have seen so far, but i was wondering if some improvements could be made. you know how on osx when you scroll across the bar the icons get bigger, and when you move away from them they fade back to their original size? well with this dock when you move away from an icon it doesn't fade, it just goes straight to the original size. i don't know if this can be done yet, just pointing it out. another thing is that some parts of some icons hide behind the icons next to it, and some are all the way out in front. shouldn't all of the icons, when mouse is over them, move in front of the other icons? know what i'm trying to say? what about some sounds?

oh!! another thing, how do i delete some icons and add other ones? anyways, great job so far man!

There is a basic PDF here:
http://www.hammerheadtech.net/deadzombie/
There are also more objects for the dock as well. The site has the dock and objects from DeadZombie, who is the person that inspired Iceman.
Iceman's Itunes and computer pop-up are better though, so don't worry about the ones on the deadzombie page. (even deadzombie is using iceman's controls!)
iceman, hope you don't mind me putting the link. e-mail me if you want me to take it out...

Hi Snively. I'm not sure of what exactly is happening, because in this dock the icons must decrease to the original size when the mouse move away (in a five steps animation)... maybe there is a little bug, but in my desktop all are looking fine. Anyway, letme check it and I'll post a fix if I find the problem. About the icon front/behind issue, I don't know the cure yet, (in fact, I think that it's impossible simply because the layer order just change when you press your mouse). This is a DesktopX issue, so there is very little chance of fix. However, thanks for your comments.
Kame: I'm using a theme that I found several months ago so I can't remember where you can find it. But tell me if I can send it to your inbox and I'll be glad doing it. Cheers.
Dlmonen: Of course there is no problem, thanks for you comments.
Though I love DeadZombie's dock zoomers, I noticed Iceman's were larger. I'd edit the png's but can ya make it easier by letting me know what size they need to be? It'd be great if you two hooked up. The Dock is slick.

just wondering if you could add some sort of hide feature? sometimes there are things at the bottom of the screen i need to see.
also could you tell us how to make .png's for the dock? i'd like to convert a bunch of icons for this.

Jun 18 2002, 18:13
I wrote a little tutorial for learn how to make your own custom zoomers. I promise a HTML version (including the PSD file for download) tomorrow so please be patient.
In order to make "hiddeable" the dock, you can right click over the dock bar, select Properties -> Relation and in "Layer Order" select "Desktop". This will show the dock just like another window.

If you want a larger version of one of my 'older' docks, look at
Deskmod. Those objects start at 64x64 and go up to 128x128.
I started making all my objects 48x48->128x128 for people with smaller resolutions (800x600), plus, at higher res you can fit more objects on a dock.
If you want a few objects that are
really nice (not saying anyone elses aren't, just that these I'm recommending are), then bug Y/C with an email (he'll kill me!). He has a personal dock that is smooth as butter, with original objects you won't find anywhere else (oh he's gonna hate me for this !

)

i read on the stardock website about some of the features that will be in the new windowfx2, and it looks like there will be a way to do the genie effect (using scripts, i think) on the dock bar. has anyone else read into this?
amilcar i'm dying to make some zoomers! you said something about an html tutorial?
i'm also anticipating those dlls. i tried doing it myself, but the damn thing just isn't taking. the .cpl's and stuff are all edited. oh well, i'll wait for your release.
