I have two working computers at the moment one is running 2003 Server and the other is running win 98. I have a working network between them but when I try to access files off the 2003 computer from the 98 computer I get a message to enter a password but I have no passwords set on the 2003 computer. Whats going on and can anyone help me?

Umm your asking this question and your managed to setup a 2003 server? Something doesn't quite click over here.. anyways I suppose...

You do need to setup permissions correctly and log into your network correctly from the 98 machine (Have microsoft networking installed and such). For your case, I would just make a user account on the 2003 machine with the same username as the 98 machine, set a password and set permissions on the share.

And if you don't know what i'm talking about.. research. I don't think anyone will really help you.

AFAIK you have to set a password on the Server anyway. No pass, no access via LAN...

This is the most likely solution.
