Full Version: Exporting a *.MPG to *.MOV with H.264

Using Quicktime 7, i'm exporting a 570MB MPG file to a MOV file using H.264.

It's just about 1/4 of the way done and it's taken 4 hours.

Now i'm on the 1.42 mac mini would this explain the slowness?

It produced a 4.5GB file that can't be right can it?

I am sure you chose bitrate very high. Just try playing around the custom settings.

powermacs are targeted towards that kind of encoding work. The mac mini is a more mid range general consumer machine.
