Full Version: How can i know what Drivers i need?

Well i work with a lot of computers and yesterday i format my mothers computer whistle.gif and well now she doesn't have a sound card installed , i wanted to know if there's a program that can detect my hardware and give me all the stuff i need to know or has a database that locates and download the last drivers available for my hardware

The device manager usually gives you an idea and Everest also lists stuff. Is this custom? or OEM/Prebuilt?

OEM prebuilt , i used everlast and windows shows unknown audio device isn't there a program that can see my hardware and download the drivers missing? that would be awesome.

anyway its a shuttle board with ac97 Model AC40S i'm checking their website now that everest told me all that stuff, but to save any trouble in the futre say i format a friends computer and he doesn't know the Mother board model and stuff so i stick with my question..
