Full Version: Changing mIRC.exe icon..

When I change the icon then my mirc doesn't start anymore with that exe.. with original exe it's starts fine cuz there is the default icon for it.. if someone know what I gotta do get it work without default icon and could tell me would be nice thanks in andvance.

You can't, go to mIRC Options > Display > Options > Tray > Change the icon from there wink.gif

The newer versions have a CRC check. The last "editable" version 6.03.

Or you can get a crc crack

Open up mIRC.exe in a hex editor. Goto offset 0x000DB0C8.
It should be '1B', just change '1B' to '00' ...CRC check is now disabled....

The offset is the hexadecimal address in the file where the bytes that need to be edited are.

Well you need a hex editor to start with. The one in my screen shot was an old one I had lying around but I usually just use ultraedit. Regardless of which hex editor you use, the search functions are usually in the edit or search menus of the program. In ultraedit the easiest way to search for hex offsets is to use ctrl+g which opes up the goto box. Then paste 0x000DB0C8 and click ok. The search will put the cursor exactly where it needs to be. Simply change 1B to 00 to disable the crc check.
