::cheezy smile:: this afternoon after my placement test for a university i will become the owner of an ibook. i cant wait to ditch windows lol im going to the apple store in soho (NYC) to get it.

great! now u may wanna think about getting a powerbook instead of ibook. eventhough its more expensive, but hey, u r not gonna regret of getting it!

have u ever used a mac? if not, i suggest u to buy a mac mini instead to play with it for a while and to check if u can completely switch to mac or not. then if u think u can leave windows then , get the powerbook!!

Congrats on the purchase. The iBooks are great if you're just starting out and if you don't need the extra features in the PowerBooks, then the iBook should be fine.

are you in need of one desperately? cause the ibook should be due for an update soon. refer here

spend $500 to only spend $1000 or $1500 more on a laptop? that's pretty stupid

I think what aleni means is, (for some reason) he may not like OS X and would be better off trying it out on a Mac Mini (cheaper) instead, before taking the plunge with the iBook.

I say: buy the iBook, and if you like it, get a PowerBook or upgraded iBook (14"? SuperDrive? More RAM/GHz?). smile.gif

I do think that it is a stupid idea to buy a Mac Mini (desktop) if you know you'll be enjoying the iBook instead (and why wouldn't you be).
