ok i just got my imac today (the new revision) i played one dvd on it, but now when ever i insert a dvd or cd, my imac just ejects it with no error message at all. it wont eve burn cd's or dvd's...

anyone have any ideas ?

Have you tried resetting the computer? I had the same prob with my old powerbook and when i restarted it, it accepted the disks again. Otherwise, the CDs could be dirty or scratched, and that could put the drive off

Congrats on getting the iMac. I want one badd... tongue.gif

yep i have tried restarting, shutting down but neither worked, and i doubt it has anything to do with the cd's/dvd's NO cd's work at all, not even the software install cd's work....

Bring it back to the Apple store. Thats my only advice. My new imac's screen wouldn't turn on today, went to the apple store and they replaced the entire unit.

Generally they don't say what is wrong with it unless they fix it inpart because the retail store will just pack it up and ship it back to the distribution plant.

Unless your machine is being fixed, they wont say and their guess is only as good as yours.
