Hi,

Is there anyway to import about 250 users in to exchange from a .csv file??, or do you have to imput them one at a time wacko.gif rolleyes.gif

do the users allready exist in the ad? if not then this might be a solution:

http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/Logon...e_mailboxes.htm

theres also a ebook on the page that explains how to bulk add users that are allready part of the domain, but that costs 7 bucks

thanks peeps, i will take a look at them when i am back in work in the morning, and no none of the users are in the ad at all, I just what to import a long list of users into exchange etc so they can use the email.

Um well to access the email they are going to have to have AD accounts - are they not wink.gif We are talking exchange 2k or 2k3 are we not? If 5.5 you could just use the import function..

More than likey you could use CSVDE to create your accounts and mailboxes as well.

AS I work in a school all users login with the same password and user etc. ie year1, year2 etc. But We now need to added them to or excahnge 2k server, but as each user and not as a group, so i was thinking i could jst set them up as as exchange years maybe?(as 250 exchange users). I was trying to find thwe quickist way to do it but, it looks like there a lot of messing about to get it to work. All I want do to is import the following in ie.

john.dow

and have the ad/exchange supply a email address and use john.dow as the password maybe? is this possible??

thanks

What you want to do is create multiple mailboxes that all use the same account - correct?

So every user will be able to access every other users mailbox? So basic security or even the "perception" of privacy is NOT a concern in your school? wink.gif Even if you setup mailboxes with address as the password.. how many seconds do you think it would take for kids to figure that out.. And be reading and or sending email as the other students?

Your best best would be to create individual accounts for the students that need exchange mail boxes.. If you do not want the user accounts in the AD, then you might want to look to another mail server to handle the students email, that would allow for account and passwords not part of the AD -- Mercury mail comes to mind - http://www.pmail.com
