Hey,

Just downloaded the Gnant icons...or the theme...

I have LInux Fedora Core 3...where do I put the Gnant icons/theme?

I just got started and I was wondering if there are any guides or manuals that may be able to help me out..

I'm fairly new and I don't know anything...but I want to customize this OS...I just don't know how. unsure.gif

If you're using Gnome, go to System>Preferences>Theme

Alright...thanks...

How do I know if I have Gnome installed?...

...and which is better...KDE or GNOME?

To install KDE do I need to download all these? -> ftp://ftp.sayclub.com/pub/X/KDE/stable/3....ra/3/i386/RPMS/

Comparing KDE and GNOME is very hard to do and is based on opinions, as both are in active dev.... but

If you wish to install KDE, yes, you should download the KDE packages that you want, most likely KDE can also be installed with the packages CD you burned, or you can download kdelibs, kdebase, and kdeadmin as I base (If I recall correctly).

To install a theme in gnome (most likely default), go to System > Preferences > Themes, and click install (locate the file you downloaded, should be a .tar.gz or something). In gnome, after installing a theme, go to: Theme Details > Icons, and drag and drop (or untar the icons to the icon directory).

In KDE, there is also a install area.
