the H10 I'm a big fan of.....you should get it..smile.gif
Hypoxiaicon
Creative Zen Micro thumbs_up.gif
Enrickey
The Rio Carbon is another good choice.
Pajter
I'd go for the Creative Zen Micro, like Hypoxiaicon said yes.gif

I've read lots of reviews about the iRiver H10, and all off them said the sound quality is extremely poor...

No it's not poor at all. I prefer it to ZM sound quality.

Its sound used to be distorted when using EQ, but it was fixed with firmware update long time ago.

I'd also recommend iRiver H10, it's got a great design and a lot slimmer than Zen Micro.

Zen Micro is too thick for my taste, especially when you put it in your pocket, it will definitely stick out unlike iPod mini and H10.

Also, color screen is a big plus, it adds another "cool" factor and you can view jpg files with it, althougth a bit small.

if you dont really care about EQs, then get the H10. great design and features.
sharpy2k4
zen micro. it doesnt stick out unless you wear tight trousers. i got one and its great xD
andy89
don't listen to those reviews with WOW! switched on the H10, the sound is amazin, as good as the H120.

Depends what you are after. I have an Ipod Shuffle and it great. I don't care to have all my music with me all the time, and it weighs nothing. Add a pair of Sony EX71SL headphones. Sounds great.

Creative Zen Touch

The H10, i am LOVING it. The sound quality (to me) sounds on par with the Zen Micro.

Why might I ask would you be locking yourself out of the iPod line when they make a good product. Simply personal preference? If so thats fine, just wondering though.

i would say get the H10 because it has a colour screen and looks much better than the zen micro. if the zen micro does have bettersound quality then get that and buy something else with the money you've saved wink.gif

If you can afford it, get the Sony HD3 or HD5.
Its stylish.

If not, get the Creative Zen Micro. My friend has it, and I highly recommend it. I also recommend the ipod mini. I dont know why you dont want it, but it's nothing like the iPod. I hate the iPod, but I quite like the mini.

Style is probably the last thing I will look for in a DAP, although my H10 is fancy biggrin.gif

There is this gr8 site called www.dapreview.net the hav a whole form Dedicated to wat DAP should i choose, i highly recomend it. As for the one i would choose. If you want colour screen, go for the iAudio X5 or iRiver H10 but if you want gr8 battery life go for the Sony NW-H5 which bosts about its 40 HR (Atrac) or 30 Hr (mp3) battery life. The sony is the one im getting for my birthday

EDIT: The Sony NW-HD1 now has native mp3 support if yours doesn't contact sony and they will upgrade it for you, so that it does support mp3

I think you might find them on ebay. iRiver had stopped producing them long ago.
