ESPN is already reporting that Dave Lewis isn't coming back as the Detroit Red Wings head coach... rumor going around is that Mike Babcock (ex-Anahiem) is going to coach... any thoughts on that?

It seems pretty neutral to me.

I don't necessarily mind Babcock coming in here to Detroit..but if that happens..they HAVE to let Barry Smith go. The man deserves a head coaching job, right now. If Detroit doesn't want another Bowman-style coach, which is understandable, then we have to let Barry go be as good as he can be.

With all of the coaching changes, it seems like the Owners and NHLPA are getting close to a deal or at least get a deal done so they can play this later this fall.
