hey em3 its not that, its just people have seen various elements they like in early versions of this theme....

the theme itself unmodded is absolutely amazing... the opinions of some just make them want to mod it a bit.

We love your work, but we like to have more options. I'm keeping the normal one, and then creating new start buttons, and progress bars, and so on. At least this is how I deal with it.

Okay, I have the alt start button themes completed in compact as well as normal...I'm just waiting on the min/max/close buttons from LE4 beta so that I can include them in the compact versions...I'm a perfectionist, sorry

Also, em3: how come when I compile the theme the compact startmenu disappears?

I reckon LE4 is one of the best, possibly the best theme out there. When you have a theme as good as LE4, it's hard to resist tweaking it, just to make a little better.
People are just tailoring it to suit themselves.

The compact startmenu was added in ResEdit.

Em, Instead of trying to cram in the alt style into LE4 which could possibly create more bugs, how bout releasing an alt start only LE4A? That would also be a quicker method,, no?

Thanks Vector. Those start buttons are tight. They compliment the caption bar buttons AND the solid progress bars.

Brilliant work man. I love the effect of the glowing minimize/restore buttons. You've made the best, most usable theme in my opinion. I will be using it for a long time.

em3, your theme is great as it is. Everyone in this thread are just personalizing the theme to their taste.

It's a shellstyle, you know like the task bar on the side in explorer...
