Who's heard this new song?

I heard it for the first time today on the radio, and I immediately recognized Chad's voice. Luckily, the song came on twice in that hour! I think the song is great.. Nickelback never cease to bang out awesome tracks.

I really like the acoustic guitar(s) in 'Photograph'. That, combined with the melody, gives the whole song such a clean, pure, rock sound - albeit, radio-friendly.. but good music is good music, regardless of it's success. I can't wait for their new album, "All The Right Reasons", which is released on October 4th.

So, what do you think of the song? tongue.gif

(It's available to download, but if you do, buy the album when it is released! Or at least the single. Or something. Send me money, I don't know, lol.)

QUOTE
Look at this photograph
Every time I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red
And what the hell is on Joey’s head?

This is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneakin’ out

And this is where I went to school
Most of the time had better things to do
Criminal record says I broke in twice
I must’ve done it half a dozen times

I wonder if it’s too late
Should I go back and try to graduate?
Life's better now than it was back then
If I was them I wouldn't let me in

Oh, god I...

Every memory of lookin’ out the back door
I got the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Every memory of walkin’ out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was lookin’ for
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Remember the old arcade?
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops seeing us hangin' out
They said somebody went and burnt it down

We used to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we’d know
We said someday we’d find out how it feels
To sing to more than just the steering wheel

Kim's the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She’s had a couple of kids since then
I haven’t seen her since God knows when

Oh, god I...

Every memory of lookin’ out the back door
I got the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Every memory of walkin’ out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was lookin’ for
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

I miss that town, I miss the faces
You can’t erase, you can’t replace it
I miss it now, I can’t believe it
So hard to stay, too hard to leave it

If I could relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change

Every memory of lookin’ out the back door
I got the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Every memory of walkin’ out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was lookin' for
It’s hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Look at this photograph
Every time I do it makes me laugh
Every time I do it makes me...

Honest question, not trying to be an idiot:

How can anyone still stand this band? Everything they've put out since that first single has sounded exactly the same to me.
Purple Haze
I liked a few songs off their first couple CDs, but the last one was horrible. One of those I'm glad I didn't have to buy before hearing. tongue.gif

i thought that when creed died, this band would go with them.

sadly i have been proven wrong. when you get the drunken frat crowd out en force listening to crappy music, they will keep you at the top of the charts.

Well the first follow up of the first album did, but in photograph guitars are different, chad's voice sounds squicky..

^^ What he said.

Guys, I can understand the similarity between their past songs, but please try to be open minded this once. Grant this song 4 minutes of your time - trust me, it's different. They have returned to a pre-Silver Side Up sound.

They've changed their sound. You just might like it.
Give it a try.
XT.
It's not too bad, but there are so many average rock bands around right now I just can't tell the difference.

they're from the same province in canada as me, overplayed. and yes to me as well, all their songs sound the same. i think you can actually take two songs, line them up, and the guitar is the exact same.
El-Diablo
all of their music sounds exactly the same.

exactly. meh. hmm.gif

all classic bands keep the same sound... their are very few timeless bands that changed their sounds and retained their fan base... look at metallica.

I think its going a giant leap saying all their songs sound the same. They are and will forever be one of the greatest bands of their time.

I worked one of their concerts here in town. They were, uh... loud?

Yes their previous songs sounded the same, this new single however does not sound anything like the other, come on, whats 4 minutes to you?

I will just chime in and say I really enjoyed this song. I like Nickleback because of the stories told in their songs, I can relate to most of them. I have also enjoyed all of their music videos thus far. When I heard this song on the radio for the first time I thought it could be Nickelback, but didn't quite sound like their "normal" stuff. Sure enough it was them, and now it is my second song on my playlist at work ('Untitled' being the first).

Thanks for the lyrics.

this song is me and my gf's song biggrin.gif

we love it, it even says her name and tells everything about us

I love Nickelback and this song has well. Been to 5 of there concerts and have never left feeling ripped off like I do at most other concerts I think anyone who has been to one would agree. Plus who can argue with a beer toss.
chavo
Well, I'm not much of a Nickelback fan. Those lyrics are awesome though.

I'll have to "acquire" this song and check it out.

I love Chad Kroeger's voice. But I don't care much for this song. His voice sounds annoying in it.
Monkey_Luvs_Chad
I have one thing to say to u and one thing ONLY!!!!!!!!
PLEASE IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ANYBODY EVEN IN
RELATION WITH NICKELBACK THEN KEEP IT TO YOURSELF OR LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!! realmad.gif

Nickelback/Theory of a Dead Man/Some Other Band that sounds the same as those two are all garbage . . . I can't stand pop rock
Monkey_Luvs_Chad
thats cool i've never been to one of their concerts really but, i have all of their CDs oh and sorry if i sounded a little demanding at first smile.gif blush.gif

Nickelback is probably the only mainstream band that I really like. I listen to not-really mainstream bands, such as Fall Out Boy, and Coheen And Cambria (love their new single too!). But there's just something different about Nickelback compared to other pop-rock bands, even if Chad's voice sounds the same in every song, it really doesn't matter because that voice is sexy (this would be my sister talking about him right now). I mean, in "Figured You Out", the first line: "I Like your Pants around your Feet", that made [my sister] drool, not just the lyric, but his voice, the way it sounds is just awesome!
Boffa Jones
I loved their first two cd's. Silver side up wasn't that great and I really hoped they would actually get a bunch better from their last cd, but I was definitely underwhelmed by this song.
