Full Version: Hooking up MP3 player to speakers

Alright, here's the deal...I've got two beasty speakers hooked up to my stereo system that I want to use. Unfortunately they use that crap ass speaker wire, which is kind of obvious...but I want to hook those speakers up to a 3.5mm audio jack that's on, say, an MP3 player or computer - because I don't want to burn a buttload of CD's.

Is there such an adapter that I could buy and if so, what is it called? I've done some searching on RadioShack's web site but didn't come up with anything conclusive...

Isnt there audio in on the stereo/reciever/whatever your speakers are connected to?

Yeah^, you're going to need an amp, your mp3 player can never power larger speakers.
