A cooperation between Bang & Olufsen and Samsung Electronics Mobile Business has resulted in Serene - a unique mobile phone concept that breaks with conventions. The phone is pure, simple, and of the highest quality, and the name ‘Serene’ reflects this. The idea behind Serene was to create a mobile phone that is dedicated to one prime purpose: to enable comfortable and convenient communication.
As a special feature for Bang & Olufsen customers, a special DECT docking station is available which enables Serene to synchronise its phonebook with the domestic cordless system of telephones from Bang & Olufsen.
Retail networks will want 1000 Euros for the Samsung's kit. At the same time in B&O's shops it will cost about 1100 Euros with a DECT -handset included.

So now people who want this will have to re-learn where all the numbers are? I don't know about you, but I can easily dial a number with my eyes closed because I'm so used to the positioning of the keys... This seems like too much of a hassle to me. It does look pretty nice though.

I had a nokia 365 which had a round dial - after a year I was still struggling with the numbers...
Ugly, not worth 1000 euros, and not liking the round dial pad.
It would be annoying for text messaging.

i like it, though i am not usually a fan of clam shell phones, i think its quite smart.
However i can foresee a few problems with txting.

So, Samsung didn't learn from Nokia that people hate it when the keypad numbers are not in the normal positions?
Im not digging it.
when I heard that Samsung and B&O were doing a collaboration, I was expecting so much more than this.
*edit.
After looking at some more pictures, this phone looks very interesting. If the price was not so outrageous, and If I had some extra money lying around, I would buy this.

god that thing is fugly.
What would be the main idea for the phones shape ?
It looks like a lady's makeup kit or something.
Maybe if they put a camera near the screen, it can double as that.
