theres an RC2?

i thought RC1 only just came out huh.gif

also just becuase some say they are not compatable with it doesnt mean they wont work.

with SOME of them you can download the .xpi file and open it with a zip archiver. (i just rename it .zip)

find the file install.rdf inside and open it in a text editor and change the max version entry to 1.5 or whatever version you are running.

then save the changes and drag the .xpi file onto the extensions window of firefox.

I did this to get fasterfox working in deerpark before i swtiched to the 1.5 build (got fedup with downloading nightlys)

Extension devs were told that if the extenion works in RC1 that they need to make sure the max version is 1.5.0.* which will let the extension work in all 1.5.0.X releases be in 1.5 final or a security release. now if a 1.5.1.0 version of firefox is released (which most likely wont happen) the 1.5.1 is saved for extension breaking releases.

so in short if it works with rc1 it will work in rc2 and final.

i had a couple running on the dp alpha (1.6) with no problems and the person who told me about the edit also ran some extensions that way.

Backup your profile before trying this though, just in case it doesn't work.
