Hey,

I've installed Nero 7, and enjoyed everything but Nero Scout. The application is quite annoying and unuseful to disable go to the start menu and click on "Run" than type this in the command box:
regsvr32 /u "%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll

Enjoy!
Hani

Hani, just wondering, should there be a quotation mark after MediaLibraryNSE.dll?

Thanks for the tip.

CODE

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{3D6BE802-FC0D-4595-A304-E611F97089DC}]

I prefer Regsvr32 /u "%CommonProgramFiles%\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll" because it automatically removes that key + it unloads the dll from memory.

You can hide or delete it with "Shell Object Editor" (right click and select Expert Mode).

yessss....and you can delete that damn media directory it creates and it won't come back!
Krpano
Thanksssssssss
Jimmie Lee
That's exactly what i need! thanks pal
grahamtriggs

Not only is it (fairly) useless - I've now managed to confirm that this is what was causing problems with the OneCare beta - specifically, the 'scan for viruses' now would hang instead of displaying a dialog.

Having disabled Scout (thanks!), OneCare now works correctly.
andyrole
Ummm... sorry to rain on your parade, but Options > Disable Nero Scout in the very program itself??? blink.gif

That's what I did. No hackz required! tongue.gif
ntbuse
