I've got an Intel Integrated Soundcard (don't laugh, came with the laptop) and for Christmas, my parents bought me a 5.1 system (Logitech x-530 if you have to know). Currently, only the front satellites and the sub works, which is sorta what I expected considering I have an integrated card. I'm searching for drivers right now, and I'm just wondering if by updating my drivers, I could somehow 'activate' 5.1 compatibility in my soundcard? I don't even think my soundcard supports 5.1 - but if somebody here tells me otherwise, I'll be pretty damn happy biggrin.gif.

Ah...found out that my soundcard doesn't have in enough jacks for the other plugs. Probably means it can't support 5.1 even if I updated my drivers.

If you're willing to shell out some dough Creative sells a pcmcia Audigy 2zs card that will allow you to use all 5 of the speakers plus the sub.
