I've got an Intel Integrated Soundcard (don't laugh, came with the laptop) and for Christmas, my parents bought me a 5.1 system (Logitech x-530 if you have to know). Currently, only the front satellites and the sub works, which is sorta what I expected considering I have an integrated card. I'm searching for drivers right now, and I'm just wondering if by updating my drivers, I could somehow 'activate' 5.1 compatibility in my soundcard? I don't even think my soundcard supports 5.1 - but if somebody here tells me otherwise, I'll be pretty damn happy .

Ah...found out that my soundcard doesn't have in enough jacks for the other plugs. Probably means it can't support 5.1 even if I updated my drivers.

If you're willing to shell out some dough Creative sells a pcmcia Audigy 2zs card that will allow you to use all 5 of the speakers plus the sub.
