I've tried Yahoo's Picture Frame that is part of their Widgets program, but I don't like it because the minium delay interval between pictures
is one minute. I prefers to cycle pictures every 7-8 seconds.

I've also tried the Photos applet that is part of Google Desktop, but
it crashes fairly frequently. It is a beta program so I can't complain too much...

Can anyone recommend a program similar to the above two
but is reliable and can be set to display photos every 7-8 seconds?

If you are not as lazy as me, you could easily create a Samurize config for that with any options you want.

Or you could have a look at rainMETER It's basicly a system meter but has a lot of other features as well.
