I just visited a blog and here is what was posted in it:

Developers, some of them, are receiving the ultimate Revolution-developer-kit for Nex, I mean, for Revolution. The first developer-kit was a GameCube with a Revolution controller. Do you remember when somebody was sending e_mails about Revolution developer kit? He could tell you I had replied right.
Revolution has a lot of RAM, more than a simple 104MB, you should know we have 512 of flash memory and developers will be able to use that memory for games. So, Isn't it a Revolution way to create technolgy? Yes, is it.

To sum up, I'm gonna tell u, u should wait until GDC. You won't see all u need to know about Revolution, but you'll know amazing news from Nex, I mean, Revolution.

Remember that this is unconfirmed, but it would definitely fit the bill for a great name. I mean the first nintendo system was known as NES, so NEX would be perfect. biggrin.gif The information is from

I like the sound of 'NEX' but time will tell. wink.gif

Mmm, it could easily be made fun of by simply replacing the "N" with a "S".

I actually prefer the name Revolution, it sounds very neat.

Same here. The name "Revolution" has a nice ring to it.

And they paid they guy who came up with that how much?

Fair play, prefer the name Revolution, but suppose it's like Vista, it'll grow on you

NEX sounds good, but think about it.

If they name this console Revolution, it makes it sound like they can't revolutionize the industry again after it. Like, this is it.

I don't believe this in the least. All his credibility goes out the window if you read some of his other blog posts. He sounds like a complete idiot. rolleyes.gif

There were a couple of other curious things mentioned in that blog you linked. This point about the other secret about the revolution controller:

Otherwise, there are still a secret about Revolution, about the way you'll play a game. With the controller pad you will be able to play a new gaming experience, but...Do you remember when I spoke about "you'll feel inside the game"? Keep thinking about it, cause the controller pad doesn't let you feel like inside the game. The I-Adapter will let you to feel that feeling.

'I-Adapter'? At this point I thought it was a bit fishy, but then there was this further down:

After some research it turns out the guy who runs the blog, one 'Osoko Tanaka' is the subject of much speculation about whether he really works for Nintendo or is a fake. There's evidence for both arguments by the looks of it, I'm not sure what to think wacko.gif
jzetterman
Well, since he's Japanese I guess we could look past the very poor 4th grade grammar.
Epimetheus
Osoko Tanaka is a facade.

He's has been debunked several times by the mozlapunk guys, and is not even WORTH posting. He even had a small hissyfit on his website after the Revolution was unveiled and said that it was the developers lying to him.

Nice way to get hits, soz but I dont believe this guy for one minute and am dubious about any Rev info unless its from one of the Ninty Execs like Shigsy.

IMHO Nex is a bad name if indeed there was any credability to it. I mean For flips sake, Ninty have already finalized the name pretty much, online ad campaigns and there entire product placement is based on this name.

To me Nex is implying, the next generation where as Revolution implys Renaissance
