I've been encountering this problem for quite some time now.
It seems when i click on the firefox icon to open it takes minutes to actuly open.
I've Uninstalled and Reinstalled.. i've tryed differnt builds, but they all see to lag so much when opening.
But once firefox is open, it seems just as fast as ever.

Slow computer? Not enough memory?

when reinstalling it, have you been deleteing the profile folder?, if you wanted to that is
maybe its an extension or theme that is effecting it?

Same setup here. Firefox opens pretty fast for me and I've been using the regular builds for a real long time now. I just have 1 extension, gmail notifier, and not too much in the profile folder... Might want to check your specs on that with mine...?

run firefox.exe with the -profilemanager switch and creat a new profile to see if its faster

Update to a newer trunk/branch build. The history wasn't indexed or something so Firefox was scanning the entire history/cache/bookmark file each time. Was fixed two or three days ago

I tryed using BangBangs nightly build but it opened slower then the release from Mozilla.

Get FireFox Preloader. you will have to Google it sorry, cant be bothered to find a link lol. This opens Firefox once at start up, and stays running in the taskbar. everytime you click on the firefox icon, it will open much faster, because it is already running in the background the extensions dont need to be loaded every time you run it. Its great, works for me.... its much faster!! tell me wot ya think!

you dont need "-profilemanager" just use "-p", make a shortcut to your firefox executable and edit the property of the shortcut, append "-p" to the end of the path to the exe (with or without quotes, doesnt matter)

And do not use the preloader, it's a hog of memory BIG TIME.
