Basically I have 300-400$ here and there to buy a new Digital Camcorder (like a handycam).

Here is what I want it to do:

1. To be able to record videos/movies with good sound.
1. Take pictures and be able to put them on the comp. Good quality pictures so atleast 3-5 megapixels or sooo.
2. Be able to put the videos on the comp and watch them on the tv.
3. Have a video editing software to work nicely with it. (That dosen't have to come with the camcorder)
4. To have alot of memory like atleast 3-5 hours for videos and somewhat for pictures.
5. Some good accessories for it.
6. Anything else I missed out thats good.

Basically it is for like home videos and vacation videos and a little bit professional videos. I want a nice sleek camcorder.

I can go a little over 400$. It should record a good amount of hours. Should have 2.5 LCD screen atleast.

I have a Sony DCR-HC42.



You need to spend at least $1000 to find a camcorder with that many mp.

Forget that then. Maybe just 2 megapixels then?
