i read on msn that they will start to add color to the 20 dollar bill next year. seems kind of cool, but a little expensive, i think the twenty is just fine how it is..

Its about time the Americans became a bit more modern...coloured money has been around for years and years and the boring old greenback is just crying out for a bit of modernising.
Different colours for different denominations makes life a whole lot easier.

Canadian money is the best. sorry, that is it. we win.
money suggestions:
one dollar bills should be orange and flouresent
$5 - pink
$10--red w maybe some stripes
$20-blue and perm scented (maybe vanilla or straw)
$50-greyish silver color
$100-goldish color or maybe yellow and glow in the dark,
and maybe they should even change the picture to different ones like mother teresa or michael jackson on a hotel balcony with his children or bill clinton.

yeah, colored money would be nice. I visited canada a few months ago and i love their money system. What the US really needs to do is get rid of the damn pennies!!! maybe even make the smallest denomination quarters.
Something that would cut down on the costs of making money would be to make the dollar a coin, such as England does. Coins last a lot longer than paper. I think this needs to be done before changing the entire color of the bill which is just going to raise the cost of production. Exactly what is the purpose of color? Is it just to make it harder for forging? I can't see how color is going to make each bill more unique, making it easier to tell them apart, what's so hard about telling each bill apart right now. There different sizes and have huge great big numbers in the corner indicating there denominations.
People talk about the new bills looking like funny money. I happen to like the new bills. But color would be nice.
I read that the color is not going to be very much just a little in the back ground. I think it would be nice if our bills where more colorerfull. The green is a little old.

I'm in Australia this week... the money here is really cool. Its different sizes and colors for each bill, but best of all its plastic, so you can send it though the wash and it won't get destroyed. It even has a neat little see-through window.

i think they started doing that at mcdonalds.. theres no 99 cent menu anymore.. its just a straight dollar... gotta start somewhere!
I heard that they aren't changing it due to looks alone, but also that some people figured out how to easily copy the new 20s, and that there's starting to be a lot of fakes in circulation. The color is going to be mostly an addition to new security measures.

if you happened to come across a fake and you didnt realize it.. and you went to spend it, but they found out its fake.. is there anything you do to exchange it for real money? or, are you just stuck with nothing?

arghh...we can't change the green color. We'd lose all those cool green metaphors and catchy phrases.
Anywho, I think it's good as it is. No reason to change really, and I still like my dollar bill (I don't want to carry around piles of dollar coins...it's pointless). Plus, try putting American money through the washer, nothings going to happen to it...it's cotton! It'll just be clean.
I could see dropping the penny though, current prices make it more or less useless
