Full Version: Need some comment on this new style i'm creating
For a font suggestion, how about Corbel and / or Segoe UI.
As for the design, I will admit I am not all that thrilled by totally flat visual styles, especially since so many other things are not flat in XP. But, if done well, it can work. As to the color, I find pea greens make me rather queasy. Other shades are quite nice, though. I like the glyphs that you are using for the buttons, though the systray might be a bit on the large size.
These are just my personal opinions, of course, and you make the visual style any way you want.

I really didn't like it at first glance, but on closer inspection most of the detailing is very nice indeed. I hope you carry the green/black elements to some of the other widgets in the theme.
Personally, I don't really like the "hidden items expander" or the "quicklaunch more button" on the taskbar though, too much contrast (and too large) for such a seldom used buttons, IMHO.
I do like the Start button being at the edge of the screen. Fitts' Law, and all that!
As for the font, I would like to see this in Verdana 7 (looks fantastic with ClearType switched off).

hmm, it does indeed grow on me... depending on the colours you choose for toolbar/system tray, it might become real sexy 
black and green...over beige? To me.. sorry looks really awkward.
