ARSENAL got the royal seal of approval when they attended a reception with The Queen at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
Her Majesty was forced to cancel a trip to see the club’s new Emirates Stadium four months ago because of a bad back.
Skipper Thierry Henry said: “It was a major honour to come here and be able to meet The Queen and have a look around.
“When I go home, I’m going to say to my little girl that I’ve been to Buckingham Palace.”
The players, including stars Theo Walcott, Freddie Ljungberg and Justin Hoyte, spent around 40 minutes touring the state rooms before enjoying a traditional English tea.
It was the first time a club side had been invited to the Palace. Boss Arsene Wenger said: “She has made a nice gesture and it is an honour for us to be here.”
