Anyone know the answer to this? I looked over Nikon's website and really didn't find anything definitive. bhphoto lists it as compatible, but it's got a third contact that my OEM EN-EL3a battery doesn't. I went ahead and ordered one, but was wondering if anyone knew this already?? whistle.gif

the new contact is used for D80 to have better shooting measuring left. If I were you, I would buy some cheap el3a from ebay if this is for a D50. That is what I did with my ex D50.

And to answer your question, you can use a EN-EL3e for yuour D50

agreed, I bought a cheap ENL3a from ebay, 2 batteries fully charged, I hardly run out of juice.
