Now i got a girl and i start goin to more and more places im gonna want memorys of them by takin pictures ect.

Im just wondering, what is the best digital camera for the money you can get ?

Im looking to spend a MAX of £200 on one.

Im currently looking at a Sony Cybershot W55s, 7.1mp camera.

Just wondering, what do you people here have, what do you like about it ?

I just got a Fuji Finepix F10 off ebay (From UK actually) with a 1GB xD card for dirt cheap. I researched the camera for days and found it the best quality for the price. It is well within your budget, amazing quality, and renown for its night shots. It is a bit older and I realize you want something small/slim (this is not slim) but I don't think you should sacrifice quality for thinness. I've had it for 2 days and 80% of the pics I've taken have impressed me.

Also just google reviews for whichever cameras you're interested in and you'll find pages of reviews with sample pictures that you can compare.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Whatever you do, please don't buy Sony. Don't get me wrong, they make great stuff. They just kill you with the accessories. Memory Sticks are much more overpriced than any comparable SD/CF card will be. Plus, the compatibility of the Memory Stick isn't that of SD or CF. Tons more devices use SD than Memory Stick. Heck, my laptop has a SD reader built into it. I can even view my D50's pictures on my Wii. :-D

Their batteries are normally more expensive as well. My old P5's battery cost slightly more than my D50's and yet lasted tons less than my D50. Again, I'm really not Sony-bashing, just giving out my experience with them.

If I were buying a point and shoot camera, I'd buy Nikon since I've converted to being a Nikon-lover but Canon is also an excellent buy as well. Fuji and Kodak also make great cameras without the higher-priced accessories of a Sony.
