Preceeding today's launch of the iPhone Apple released iTunes 7.3 for Windows and Mac OS X. It is available on the iTunes homepage and via Apple Software Update.

No, not really. There is a new feature for sharing photos with AppleTV as well, but that's about it.

Performance-wise it's great for me, however I usually get the black window on startup, which is fixed with a quick minimize. Even so it's still compatible with Vista, even if there are a few bugs here and there.
EDIT: This is on 7.2. I'm still downloading 7.3, so I hope the black window issue is finally fixed

Updated. It looks different somehow, but I updated cause I skipped the previous version, so might as well.
They removed the non-metal like buttons and replaced them with something a little more Leopard like.
Looks lame, but nicer than before I suppose

i wish they made it a true vista app, like when you minimize or maximize the window it does the transition, same as when you close it, still feels like a port to me.

Podcasts now have album view and coverflow.
Also the soundcheck bug for podcasts (it wasn't adding soundcheck values to new podcasts) is fixed.
There is also support for streaming photos from any computer to AppleTV.

Some people on Hydrogenaudio claim that the Leopard version of QuickTime will have FLAC support, which also means iTunes probably will have it too.

Yes, I have Outlook 2007 under XP/SP2 and, yes, the 7.3 iTunes plugin crashes it and has to be disabled.
Good thing I don't want my contacts synched onto my iPhone.

What I did is this: I extracted the installer I downloaded from apple. Deleted the msi for the mobile devices and executed the ones for iTunes and Quicktime.

This way if the only update iTunes, you only install iTunes. Saves a little bit of time and the hassle of removing Quicktime from the system tray.
This update really screwed up the sorting.
My Mac OS X is in Spanish, so now iTunes doesn't ignore "The" at the beginning of artists' names anymore. iTunes used to ignore "The" and it would sort the artists appropriately, now all the "The.." artists are sorted together.
iTunes is now set to ignore things such as "La, El, Los" in song names, and in Spanish it would be correct. However, it doesn't matter to iTunes if it's by itself or if it's part of a name. "Lang Lang" is now sorted by "ng Lang" and it's between the N's. "Elton John" is sorted by "ton John".

That seems to be a bug to me, it should only sort articles, not letters that happen to form articles.

LOL, you should get rid of "Los Tigres del Norte" y "Los Tucanes de Tijuana", man, that's not music for an iPod...
Just kidding, just rename them eliminating "the" for example, I have "Los Enanitos Verdes" in my iPod, I just renamed then as "Enanitos Verdes"...there, problem solved!

I found if you edit the Sort Artist and Sort Album fields with like for example AAA 10 Years for an artist, or AAA 10,000 Days for a album, it works wonders. You can also edit back The with the Sort Name field.
Using this, it took me a little over an hour to reverse iTunes v7.3's re-ordering nightmare.
